"New" Lake Mateos
Located about 25 miles east of Culiacan, Lake Mateos is actually not a "new" lake, but it is a reborn fishery that was all but dead in the 1980's and early 1990's when drought conditions and heavy agricultural water use decimated the lake and the bass fishing.
The past three years, this coastal Mexico area has seen the best rains in over 50 years and the lake is again nearly at capacity. And the fishing is booming!
Lake Mateos is declared a sport fishing only lake by the Mexican Government and it has a "catch and release" policy. This policy means more lunker bass to test your angling prowess. Bring your camera and take plenty of pictures of your catch.
Wild Wing Hunts handles every detail so you can get a full day of fishing. We provide only the finest boats, motors, and equipment. We assign only two guests per boat. Each boat is operated by one of our knowledgeable, English-speaking guides, so you can spend the day catching fish, not looking for them. You will enjoy our modern, 16 foot long, custom-built, bass boats. These boats are equipped for either traditional bait casting or fly fishing. Each boat is powered by a 55 or 65 hp motor and outfitted with dual gas tanks. These boats have the range so you can enjoy the entire lake without refueling. Each boat is equipped with two ice chests for complementary beverages of your choice.
Finest on the lake
Our luxury lodge overlooks the lake and offers terrific views. This modern permanent building offers spacious rooms with only two guest per room. Each room has two beds and its own private bath with shower and toilet with fine American fixtures.
The lodge is air conditioned but also includes a ceiling fan in each room for your additional comfort. Twice daily maid service insures your room will always be clean upon your return. This is luxury! No trailers or bunkhouses for our guests! Being right on the lake allows our guests to fish all day long.
Your day at the lake starts with an early morning knock on the door and a glass of fresh orange juice and coffee. Thirty minutes later you will be dining on an all-you-can-eat American Breakfast. Then you and one other guest will fish until lunch in your own boat with an experienced guide.
At lunch time, it's back to the lodge for a wonderful meal which begins with fresh from the oven nachos and a cold margarita. After lunch, it's back to the lake until sundown. Your day ends relaxing with a delicious gourmet dinner on the palapa where you can enjoy the beautiful lake views.

All guests will be met at the Culiacan airport by our local manager and transported to and from the lodge at no additional expense. Complementary beverages are available in all our vehicles, so DON'T DRINK THE WATER! Your comfort and enjoyment are our foremost concern.
